This tree stump has an interesting face. I wonder if I look like this when I am stumped. The stump is located at the Bobelaine Audubon Sanctuary Trail on the Feather River in Northern California.

Tree horse colt resting his limbs.
I came upon this beautiful young tree colt lying down on the grass resting his limbs.
Did not want to disturb this quiet giant of nature. He looked so peaceful, resting quietly, left hand resting on chest with with knees bent.
Well it has been awhile since I posted. Here is a photo taken in Connecticut this past April. I would have a grumpy face too if a large turtle was sitting on my head :~( .
First there was one and then they were everywhere. Cherry blossoms swaying in the breeze, sharing their perfume. A glorious gift of pink petals smiling down on me.
What a beautiful day in the mountains. Snow-Bear is having a picnic lunch of pine bark.
Well looky here! It’s the long-eared snowshoe hare peaking out from behind the tree.
What a lucky moment for me. The Snow Ice Bird kept still during this photo op!
Maybe not quite the Charles Laughton character but similar, I think he is thinking of a summer sanctuary.
After a cold night in the forest a good stretch helps begin the new day.
